Our 5th and 6th classes participated in a very informative webinar today on Substance Use/Abuse and Wellbeing.
Pupils were extremely engaged in the webinar and responded very well to the various activities.
Topics covered were:
- What is a substance?
- The differences between teenagers and older adults
- Legal and illegal substances
- All drugs are different
- What can drugs do?
- Why do some young people start to use illegal drugs?
- When do people start abusing drugs?
- Taking brain breaks
These were all presented in a relevant age-appropriate manner. The feedback from the teachers and staff was very positive and it was felt that the webinar heightened everyone’s awareness to the dangers of drugs.
