November 30, 2021

Our 5th and 6th classes participated in a very informative webinar today on Substance Use/Abuse and Wellbeing.

Pupils were extremely engaged in the webinar and responded very well to the various activities.

Topics covered were:

  • What is a substance?
  • The differences between teenagers and older adults
  • Legal and illegal substances
  • All drugs are different
  • What can drugs do?
  • Why do some young people start to use illegal drugs?
  • When do people start abusing drugs?
  • Taking brain breaks

These were all presented in a relevant age-appropriate manner. The feedback from the teachers and staff was very positive and it was felt that the webinar heightened everyone’s awareness to the dangers of drugs.
